ABOUT MANON
I am an animal behaviourist, trainer and Trust Technique practitioner based in Surrey. I have spent my life surrounded by animals, in particular dogs and horses. Whilst working as a professional horse trainer, I became fascinated by animal psychology, behaviour and how their nervous system plays a very important part in the way they react to the world around them. Alongside studying the Trust Technique and animal behaviour, I spent 3 years travelling and working with animals around the world in animal sanctuaries. I gained experience and insight into our dogs' world and how we can best help and support them emotionally, mentally and physically.
I believe that dog training isn’t about shutting our dogs down, or changing them to be something they’re not. It's to see them for who they are and to help them find balance and emotional regulation in a human world.
The added bonus of this method of training is that you might find that you're not just regulating your animal's nervous system but you're also regulating your own.

Client Testimonials
I first met Manon in 2020 whilst volunteering at an animal rescue centre in Tenerife. It was my first time working with animals and I could not have wished for a more perfect mentor than Manon. I spent a lot of time observing Manon whilst she was helping some of the dogs. It was incredible to see the deep and lasting two-way relationships she created with the dogs, without the need to dominate and control as others were doing. Not only does Manon have incredible knowledge of The Trust Technique, she has a calm; mature; responsible; patient; wise; compassionate; empathetic and respectful nature which the dogs noticeably appreciate and respond to. Manon is one of the very few people I have ever come across whilst volunteering in animal sanctuaries, who truly works from the heart, rather than from a place of ego or financial gain. Manon takes the time to understand the animals as individuals, to understand their nature and their backgrounds. By sharing her knowledge and skills with me and also by observing her working with the animals, Manon has certainly been the most influential person in my recent years. I always keep Manon's spirit in my head and heart whilst helping with the most challenging animals and this has allowed for the complete transformation of some severely anxious animals such as Dequika, a horse at the Tenerife Horse Rescue Centre and also Millie, a donkey from Hayling Island Donkey Sanctuary. I pass on the knowledge and wisdom that Manon imparted on me, to everyone I come across, whether in animal sanctuaries or to pet owners. Manon is always the first person who I contact to get any advice on helping animals. Myself and all the animals who she helps directly and indirectly through people such as myself, are eternally grateful to have her in this world. Thank you Manon 🙂

Manon is so calm and reassuring to both animal and owner. This sets the scene for her patient and mindful approach to animal training.
I was becoming embarrassed and frustrated by my 8 month old miniature schnauzer puppy, Juno. Despite reading books and watching youtube dog training videos, I couldn’t find anything that helped. We were having thoughts of rehoming her as our puppy was so stressed and reactive to everything – all people, all traffic, other animals. It had got so bad that we hardly went out and kept the blinds closed all day to stop her seeing anything that might set her off.
From the first session, Manon seemed to ‘get’ Juno and patiently taught Juno and I the creative reaction technique. This is not a quick fix, but with perseverance and lots of practise I started to see improvements. Manon always went at our pace and gently supported and encouraged me when I found something difficult. During one of our early sessions, I recall saying that I’d know when the training had worked - when Juno and I could walk up Surbiton high street (Victoria Road). At the time this seemed a very unlikely outcome. Manon always had confidence that it would happen and I was amazed and delighted when we walked past dozens of people, all kinds of traffic, even a postman, without a single woof.
Juno is 18 months old now. She is not a perfect dog, but she is good enough and has learnt how to calm herself so that anything that upsets her is quickly forgotten in a few seconds and she continues to learn how to be more confident in new situations.
In summary, for an anxious and reactive dog, Manon’s training and support is the best.
